Week 14 Steelers host America’s team the Dallas Cowboys
As expected, the Steelers beat the New England Patriots. Unexpectedly they crushed them, the game was a blowout of 33-10. Steelers main players played well, the Defense which is totally kicking ass every week, Big Ben had a decent game for the 3rd in a row (2 TDs & 1 Pick), Willie Parker 87 yards on 16 carries, and Hines Ward 5 catches & 1 being a TD.
Steelers this week host the Dallas Cowboys (8-4, 3 game winning streak) who’ve lately righted the ship once their star QB (and awesome guy – after all he’s dating Jessica Simpson) came back from a hand injury which caused him to miss 3 games in which the team lost 2 of them. His last 2 games played, 6 TD’s 1 pick, 113.3 & 113.7 rating, 670 yards & 69 points scored – wow was he missed those 3 games. Missing 3 games in the NFL is a lot since there are only 16 total games played. Even though he’s missed 3 games, he’s put up another Pro Bowl quality year – in fact his current numbers are good for a full season for other QBs (2,559 yards, 64% completion rate, 21 TDs to only 8 Picks, & a nice gaudy passer rating of 103.2) – incredible. If he finishes the year with similar numbers, he’ll have 3 mind blowing consecutive years of passer ratings of 95.1, 97.4 & this years 103.2 (off to a hall of Fame Career). He’ll definitely will be a target of the Steeler D, need to shut him down & make things difficult for him.
What was to have been the Cowboys strength, their O line has been bad – they’re average now. Most of their other offensive pro-bowl players from last year are having good years – but nothing superb. RB Marion Barber is a bit injured, but he’s having a great year – already he’s amassed 870 rush yards is on pace to 1,150+. Jason Whiten has 58 catches for 709 yards, while Terrell Owens has 52 catches for 816 yards – both not pro bowl quality play that was expected of them. Only pro bowler on Defense that is still playing awesome is LB DeMarcus Ware – the rest have been injured & not crushing teams.
Initially (my pre-season prognostication) I thought the Dallas Cowboys would come to Pittsburgh & beat my Steelers – that was then & this is now. I will flip flop, & now see the Steelers winning this game & continue with their success in this super tough gauntlet of a schedule that the Steelers have had. Depending on weather, this might be a tough game for points being scored. Steelers beat the Cowboys & go to 10-3.
